I have 220,000 FF points and my husband has 275,000.

I have been giving some thought to where we should spend NEXT years holiday (cause I have to take hols around about now due to my work patterns), and because my tight cough spouse is having kittens over how much our May 2005 holiday is costing I thought I may as well put him out of his misery next year and use points for the hotels and not just the flights.

Now I KNOW this is probably not the best use of them, but we rack them up fairly quickly, so the question is where can we go? Are there any Quality, Rydges or Radisson hotels on any of the lovely islands off our east coast? I can't seem to find any, so any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Bear in mind we will then have an almost 3 year old to take with us, and if I have to do Gold Coast again I will string myself up.

Karen, are you sure it's his cough that's tight  and not his double-handed grip

Hmm, maybe the Qantas Holidays webpage might give you some ideas - check the drop down selection for The Queensland Islands (all listed) or what about Broome??

Certainly, check to see wherever you end up flying, are the points better spent pre or post 25 May 2005.

With that many points, tell him to fly you in J or he can organise his own holiday :p .

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

:D LMAO at the thought of my husband organising a holiday for us himself. As i'm not quite prepared to wait until hell freezes over I think I'll give that idea a miss.

We are actually going to Broome in May this year - but staying at Cable Beach Club Resort  which is why he's all hot and bothered over the price. He needs to realise that along with skinny ties, decent hotels under $100 a night died out in the 1980's

I'll give the Qld Resort idea the look see, but honestly I'm so incredibly lazy was hoping someone would just say "OOOHHH you MUST go to such-and-such". Lord Howe Island looks good to me - very nice scenery, the spouse can go for some nice long nature walks and I can chill out by the pool like normal. However, again everywhere I've seen is about $400 a night.

But that is dependent on the hypothesis that hell is exothermic rather than endothermic :D ...

ROTF :D - that the price ones pays for exclusivity and tranquility, away from the maddening crowds. Peanuts...monkeys come to mind

OOOHHH, you MUST go to....well, I'm sorry, I don't think my single trips to Dunk Island in 1975 and Great Keppel in 1985 will mean much to you. The first was as a child and the second...well, I'll leave that to your imagination
