When will Virgin develop the Windows app for their Inflight Entertainment system?

Seriously, we have had the Virgin Inflight Entertainment system for 2 odd years now, apps are developed at a ridiculous pace and those of us who have Windows based phones or tablets are still WAITING for access to this service!!! C'mon JB, along with dropping drinks from flexi fares you are dropping the ball on the little things that enhance the passenger experience.

Edit: Oops, I have Apple but require Windows for some applications, and downloaded Bootcamp. I just realised you need to go the other direction.

Here here. SBS have had Metro/modern apps for Windows 8/RT and Windows Phone 8 out for a while, and other TV providers are doing the same. Devices like the Surface are so much more productive than iOS and Android for the business traveller (spend a week with a Surface or Lumia 2520, and you'll understand) I would have thought Virgin would make support for the productive business warrior a top priority.

My company sells windows phones and tablets and they aren't doing well. I doubt there are enough users to justify it. I have a windows phone (supplied by work) and an android phone (personal). The android is much better...

Fwiw I have a surface rt for traveling. It is the old model bit great for movies and also good with office apps inbuilt.

RT wont work as it cant run silverlight.

Windows Phone 8.1 is a huge jump forward bringing them within striking distance of ios and android and their market share will likely continue to grow - there is still a way to go for app developers to catch up in their offereings, the platform now to me is far more intuitive and integrated for business use if your office also runs things like sharepoint, Outlook and Office.

Clazman - no flaming. However, can you imagine the reaction if this were to appear on what my Telstra Mobile specialist calls the Jesus Phone? (aka iOS devices - they're the Messiah) Snapped with a Lumia 920.

Very hit and miss in my experience. Seems to work occasionally with IE and hardly ever with Chrome. Freezes up at the start or doesn't load at all.

Pretty poor really. Seeing as we're providing the devices they could at least provide decent software - costing them a lot less than full IFE isn't it?

I know it's better than nothing but a non-functioning system isn't.
