From experience looking for two domestic award flights in J for two QFNB PAX, this seems to be 10:00 on the 353rd day before the date of the desired flight.

Originally thought it might have opened at the time of the flight or the time of the first flight of the day to the destination (13:25 or 08:05 in this case) but experimenting using KVS and dummy bookings over the previous couple of weeks before making the booking, confirmed 10:00 as the most likely time.

Of course this might be different at other times of the year and for other stalus levels.

I was doing this daily some weeks ago as I was looking for awards around Easter 2009.

It opens online midnight UTC wfich is 10am AEST. (During Daylight savings it's 11am AEDST)

There have been reports that telephone QFF earlier than that can snaffle availability at the additional cost of the 2½K booking fee. I have yet to test this.

Interestingly, I saw ExpertFlyer showing X availability on Qantas one or two days before the 353 day opening. (You MUST specify QF)

Does seatcounter ever show X,U or Z availability?

If so, how do I make it display these?
