I have three J redemptions in late May. The front row of the J cabin is blocked (or each of my flights has exactly 6 people whom have all selected the front row 11.) The first row I can select is 12. Is there a point at which SQ open up these row to us pathetic credit card customers a.k.a no status, no PPS?

You could call the SIA and reuest these seats and they may give this to you if it is not already taken. I received it once. Waiting for SIA to open them up is easier said than done.

We don't want row 11 Alby as it can be noisy if you want to sleep.

Saji, that's actually a good idea. I have four overnight sectors on my itinerary which I want to get sorted so it might be worth sitting through the queue.

Cove, in my case at 186cms tall with feet size to match it makes a worthwhile difference.

While the seat is the same length, it is the overhand area of the seat-in-front when my feet have to tuck in and under that annoys me. The front row doesn't have the overhang and my feet can move without hitting the overhang.

I have only a few PPS credits between Mrscove and myself and quite a lot of unused points in 2 SQ accounts plus a warehoused credit card. Actually we have never been made to feel that we are second class citizens on any of the flights that we have taken.
As you get older you will shrink a bit....I was 184 but now 183 at 62. Probably you should call them to get row 11 Alby.

Hi Alby
are we talking 380 or 77W.
I have just ( last friday ) taken a trip on both.
In the 77W i would like to call 11A my seat but alas I usually have to give it up to Mini Danger and sit next to Mrs Danger in the center 11d and f i think. IMHO they are the best seats in the house. Forward cabin of only 8 seats with the center 2 in row 12 crew rest seats. if you want a big sleep these are the ones.
In the 380 11 d and f were blocked out so we all sat in row 12. The reason for block out was d and f are bassinette seats. When we boarded they were still empty and I nearly moved but 11 a was taken. Glad I didn't thou as the guy in 11a ended up taking all the blankets he could as the sub zero draught up the stairwell was unbearable despite the curtain being closed.
To sum up 77w take 11 if you can as the foot area is really wide. 380 if you want the extra leg room pack the Northface artic gear and wrap up warm!
Cheers Danger UXB

I called and now have 6 sectors all in 11D on A330 & 1D on A320 over a 10 day period. Admittedly not so critical on the A320 as they are 3 hr day flights.

Finding my seat should be easy on each flight.

Cheers

Alby I think you will be fine getting to your seat. And there you were thinking that a points flyer was lowly!
As for us Mrscove just got a suite due to a change of aircraft. I had been thinking we were sweet for Kris points for 3 years but this could be a hard thing getting her back from a suite in the future.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
