Hi all,

Will be travelling in J on the SQ288 SYD-CBR-SIN service on 1 Nov and ExpertFlyer shows there are some blocked seats on the flight. On SQ do these seats become open for selection at some specific time before departure or at check-in? Or do they stay blocked for high-value/status passengers?

Thanks

From experience I know they are available around 48 hours before departure - which is the time I logged on an secured bulkhead J seats for some friends. It may be earlier than that but that just happened to be when i logged in to check seating.

bassinet seats seem to stay blocked until the airport.

Thanks! So I just happened to check the seat map at ~T-105 and 11A was open for selection. Fingers crossed the selection sticks. There’s something strange going on with the app - the Manage Booking summary page shows my seat as 11A but when I go into the seat map again it looks like I haven’t assigned a seat (but 11A is now greyed out while my previously selected seat is available). Is this normal?

There you go! Looks like we have an even earlier data point :) (105 hours).

Can't help with the MMB and greyed out seat. Did you log out of SQ completely and log back in? Sometimes there can be a short lag with some booking systems to update.

I’m not a KF member so have just been using Manage Booking the old-fashioned way with the booking reference. Have checked on different browsers and all seem to say I’m in 11A on the main page, so fingers crossed!
