What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

Well the news in appears to suggest otherwise.......

The Aussie fell overnight as the latest RBA meeting minutes were released and showed policy makers would like to see further depreciation of its currency and left the door open for further rate cuts. Tonight sees Inflation data from Australia with a pick up expected from last quarters reading. Tomorrow night sees New Zealand’s rate decision with rates expected to be held at 3.25%. GBP/AUD is at 2.1140 and GBP/NZD at 2.3575.

Wow Flashback you are really watching the currencies. I just glance at the GBP and NZD as I log onto Commsec.
The USD and the EUR are the ones I really watch.

RBA are a pack of morons. Reports say we now headed towards 60c and we don't need to overheat the housing market anymore. Reading somewhere, if the dollar falls down too much, businesses won't be able to buy new equipment from overseas.

We have a trip to the US planned for early September.
Hoping it will pick up before we go.

headed down overnight. US 0.7276 according to yahoo's contacts
Doesn't hurt my US social security payment in the local market.

Random wandering ???

Wonder how many are still buying AA miles? Nudging 3 cents a mile with current ex rate/bonus

The last few trips we have booked have been flexi economy plus 10,000 QF points upgrades to get status credits included on domestic flights. The upgrade fairy has been kind and I have been using Amex Ultimate to get the bonus points. Our family stash of AA miles don't need to be increased and should last quite a long time. My sons use them for business class runs to Sydney or Melbourne when they have spare days around a sporting event or two. Our US Air and AA miles were all accumulated at a cost of between zero and sub 2 cents as we are into bargain buying. We haven't bought any from AA since the exchange rate moved below the mid Eighties.

Not bought any for a while. Similar to cove we have quite a stockpile. I continue to credit some hotel stays and car hire to AA.
Also have a stockpile of LM's and due to the falling Aussie and difficulty now redeeming them to Europe, I won't be buying any.

Between myself and +1, we have quite a stockpile of AA and Lifemiles. ...with the plummeting AUD, I have no great desire to buy more or even go to the USA on hols:(....

I'd holiday locally if it wasn't so expensive to holiday locally.

The drop in AUD hasn't really affected economy airfares and need to find a way to continue to purchase accommodation in AUD. e.g I booked a superior room including breakfast for 2 at Sunshine hotel Pattaya for 7 nights ~AUD45/night which is what I have been paying past few years.

Premium travel and 5 star hotels at your own risk.

Airfares don't change very much but in-country expenses go up. Have just dumped a bunch of A$ into my Qantas Cash card in UKP and EUR (for on-ground car hire and restaurants etc) and am pre-paying as much as possible for European/ UK trips in October and Xmas.

Maybe WA and YV wineries and NZ are looking more attractive for 2016.

But at least it's good to see NZD at AUD$1.11 so can order NZ wines again direct. Just ordered 15 from Akarua. ;)

Now wishing we'd locked European distributors into fixed Euro price points a year ago instead of A$ prices!
