What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

I am tracking the Euro and have used Citibank plus account for the very first time. They took the money today but I put in the transfer on Friday afternoon.

WIsh to update my iPad apps...any recommendations on FX app (with ticker) that shows movements and perhaps graph over day/week/month etc. ?

I am disappointed in the FX transfer rate offered by Citibank plus account. It's great maybe for small ATM withdraws where you get the bank rate and no fees.

I am now using HiFx and found them ok to IMHO better than Citi and better than Amexfx

Last week I bought at 0.9392 and transferred it. It costs nothing to send but my receiving bank charge $20US.

I read a lot about fx due to the nature of my work. All these so called analysts have no idea what the rate is going to do. One week they say its off to 80c, the next back to parity. As soon as a small trend develops everyone jumps on the bandwagon. I also agree the Citibank Plus account is terrible for FX rates, don't bother - only use it for ATM withdrawals.

Spot on.

I have no idea about foreign exchange but I am certain of one thing. The so called analysts have no idea.

We can all agree on the fact that no one knows which way the currencies are going so just try to buy the highs.

I agree. In mid 2008, they were saying it would be $1.10USD by the end of the year. By Oct 08, it was dropping to 60c.
In the last few weeks, their predictions have changed almost every few days for anywhere between 70c and 105c.

That's because the AUD has long lost any connection with the actual economy, and is now simply the plaything of FX gamblers.
