Dropped below 60 Euro as well. Not good at all but can't see anything in the crystal ball that is going to start it climbing again either.
60.05 the euro stands right now. The crystal ball is murky however.

It is time for a full on recovery to .6020 on the Euro and .6790 on the USD.
Should we worry that the NZD is so close to the AUD?

What a laugh .......but compared to several years back it was 80 cent Euro that would be a nice recovery for an Australian low on cash.

Marki I want to buy a million USD at 0.7020.
I was joking about that recovery.
There is a currency war going on at the moment and that is no joke, Cause the effect of the low-interest rate below 1% in Australia will evaporate....unless we go into negative interest rates. They pay you to hold on to cash, not in the bank.

Well interest rates cut again.The Aussie will resume it's dive.
Yes, I thought this cut had already been priced in, but it seems AUD is down slightly relative to USD, CAD and EUR today.
Few currencies have been battered as much as AUD in the past 12 months, but SEK, NZD and IDR have tracked the AUD closely.

it's only down 3 cents from last 8-10 month average. Dropped 1/2 cent, when RBA cut today. I think it will recover to 67.5 to 68 cents by end of week/early next week.

Still shouldn't stop those going skiing in Colorado. It's so fricking cheap, it doesn't matter unless you're the sort of fmaily that goes out to restaurants for every single meal, then it will add up.

Great time to convert USD to AUD
  • Only if you think we've reached near the bottom or;
  • You have a large amount and want to move it in stages or;
  • You need the money now
  • You prefer a bird in the hand....
Just make sure you DON'T use a bank but one of the much lower costs FX outfits (properly vetted of course - check their licencing)

The GBP resembles that remark.... Off to the US tomorrow, lowest it's been for me since I've been travelling there by a long shot

Sometimes the planets line up, for good or for bad.
The system is breaking all the traditional rules of economics, maybe that's ok…stuff changes... but...
This black duck is increasingly twitchy and watching his "pile" carefully….

The cheapest way to transfer modest amounts of USD to Australia is have a USA debit card with no ATM fees at an Australian ATM..... And the exchange rate is normally quite competitive (and current).

I normally do it twice a month...... Consider my age and retirement status....

Just wandering

I had trouble finding an ATM that wouldn't charge a fee for foreign cards when I was over last year. Suggestion on which bank ATMs to use?

I have a Citibank (USA) card and AFAIK neither CBA or Bankwest charges make it to my USA account.

Happy wandering
