What's the most obscure airport you've visited?

It's a toss up between YPDA and YLEC but I'm sure @TomVexille has been to YLEC

Actually I have not.

But I did think of four more that I would be extremely surprised if any AFFer has ever been to.

1. KJOT - Joliet Regional Airport
2. KARR - Aurora Municipal Airport
3. KLOT - Lewis University Airport
4. C09 - Morris Municipal Airport James R. Washburn Field

And YJAC is Jacinth-Ambrosia in SA

On a slightly different note, I've flown from
RSE - Rose Bay, Sydney to Newcastle (Hunter River) - not an obscure location but I wonder how many in my generation would have flown on the scheduled commercial service from RSE to Newcastle. (I need to find my boarding pass to remember what code they used for the Hunter River "airport."). This service unfortunately didn't last very long, a few months only I think.

Most obscure commercial airports I've been to is probably IDA - Idaho Falls, Idaho, US, and White Plains New York (HPN), but thrse may not actually be that unique for this audience. I'm not counting airports with non commercial service in general aviation planes - have been to a dozen or two of those around Australia and US but not sure they count.

Kingscote Airport (KGC) on Kangaroo Island, where I was flying Rex to Adelaide then transit into Melbourne on Qantas. There was no security check (shocking) at Kingscote, and on arrival I can just connecting to the Melbourne flight without any check.
That was the first few years in Australia, and I was like totally shocked at the lack of security down here.

I think my most obscure AU airport would be Shark Bay in WA (MJK)

And overseas it would be Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan (FRU) back in the Avianca trick fares day. And obscure because I arrived without a visa and still managed to enter the country (for a few hours in any case).

Waterford in August 2015, Ipota and Tanna in October 2019

No visa required these days. Though I do have a similar story of arriving in Warsaw without a visa and managing to talk my way in. Had routed via Rome to get a visa there but plane was late.
Bishkek is the start of my Stan’s tour, shame that Avianca trick no longer works.

Probably CHY - Taro, just off the tip of Choisuel, with special mention to GZO (Gizo) which is an island (Nusatupe) airport, you can only get there by boat. Both in the Solomon Islands.

2 come to mind

ACF Archerfield in Brisbane flew there from Brisbane on a non scheduled flight.

GTE Groote Eylandt flew on a round trip from Darwin for no other reason to see how far it was.

Simao, Yunnan, SYM a long time ago. The old airport in Kunming, literally 5 minutes from downtown, KMG, long gone, now redeveloped.
