It's usually dark. And curtain pulled for entire flight.

Actually nothing special just a rear facing jumpseat. Crews use it for short breaks.

It's in front of F just to the right of the main stairs to upperdeck.

There's nothing in particular there. Crew do sometimes take their break there, but, like all door areas, it's quite cold. It is used as a holding area for the bedding both before and after, so the curtain hides that temporary mess.

In some cases it's possible to carry a paxing crew member in a cabin jump seat...and that's a good place to stash them during the cruise. Access is extremely restricted, and they must be EPs qualified on type.

Not always but frequently noticed to be cooler which I like!

Pretty sure that's because it's hard to insulate a hole in the aircraft. There is a small gap around the door, even with a rubber seal I wouldn't expect that to be as good as a solid metal tube at keeping out the cold.

If that was the case there would be condensation and perhaps even frost on the edges of the door. I think its something else - maybe ventilation ducts?

Basically there are metal components there that go to the outside without a thermal break. Depending upon the aircraft, ice can form around the frames, but there's normally enough air flow (the nice warm air leaking out) to stop it. Place a can of soft drink next to some door sills, and you can freeze it in fairly short order. In the coughpit the same issue exists around the window frames, and there can be quite a bit of ice formed. That then melts during the descent, and you'll be rained on....
