Hi all was sitting thinking about what to do with points so what would you do with 1.5 M points

I guess the first question is: What could I do with that many points?

I mean can you book some first class flights or just get an upgrade from Y-J on a SYD-CBR flight?

If I had a need to book flights, I would transfer them to AA and get approx 618,000 points and could get about 5 business class r/ts to Europe or the USA or approx 4 1st class seats

Plus of course get 60% of the requirements for Lifetime Gold (OW Ruby)

Or transfer to SQ and get somewhere between 5.5 and 11 business class returns to Europe or ... well really it would seem the optimal to leave them in Amex and use them on whatever airline you could availability at the time of travel.... and then transfer some to an appropriate hotel program for accommodation.

donate about 300K points to munitalP :)

we could be best friends for ever! LOL

Other (not mentioned options):

1½M MR points could purchase $15,000 worth of travel with "Amex Travel".

If the awards program permitted (I assume Centurion from an earlier post today) they could be transferred to QFF at 1:1 an used to obtain 3 Oneworld First Class awards @420K each. 5 Business Class Oneworld awards @280K each and 10 Economy Class Oneworld awards @140K each. (Taxes, levies, charges excluded).

They could be transferred to AirNZ airpont for a direct $15,000 worth of Airpoint $ (if you had a New Zealand resident account, it would be ~NZD18,000)

Yes no AA for me.

I am about to transfer the 1.5 million and gain the 10% bonus to get 1.65 million KF points.

After the 15% online discount if all Saver J's that is 12.9 returns to Europe. So say 13.

Or on other *A = 11 J returns.

In actuallity it will be a mix of the two depending on which cities I fly in out of.

With SQ and *A you can redeem one-way for 50%. So that allows arrival and departures from different cities. In my case I will seek the Saver J where I can, and redeem *A where I cannot.

If you didn't feel the need to fly anywhere, you could donate them to various charities.

Ahh - a selfless philanthropic response!

If 1.5 million points appeared out of nowhere, I'd transfer tham to QFF and use them to buy tickets for 4 of my best friends to do a RTW trip in at least J - the people I have in mind wouldn't be able to afford it for themselves but would make very good travelling companions!

Of courtse, I'd have to go along as their guide and mentor!
