Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a Visa/Mastercard rewards card that I can use in those establishments that don't accept Amex.

I bank with NAB but their Gold Velocity Card only yields .5 points per $1 spent, and they don't do any bonus points.

What other options are there that yield good points per dollar + bonus points when applying? The annual fee nor the interest rate is an issue as I pay everything off at the end of the month.

I'm looking at the Virgin High Flyer, but wanted to see what other options there are.

Hello!

Have a look at this chart for some options Points Transfer | Velocity Frequent Flyer

Also keep your eye out when you do get one for the offers Velocity give for double your points (they have done this twice in the last year and is a very good option depending on your spend and how many cc reward points you have)

Thanks for your replies.

It seems like the best option for my spending patterns are:

Amex Virgin Velocity Platinum - 3 points per $1 spent when buying Virgin flights and 1.5 points per $1 for everything else
Amex Platinum Reserve for groceries and petrol - 3 MR points per $1 spent, transferable 1:1 to Velocity points.
Virgin High Flyer when Amex is not accepted or there's an Amex surchage - 1.25 points per $1 - take advantage of the 2-4-1

I've applied for the bottom 2 credit cards, hopefully will get approved soon.
