What to expect from a Double Tree

Photographed Doubletree Beijing during the Olympics - it had just opened. One guest who was covering the Olympics for one of the TV stations, commented he would have thought it a Hilton, if not for the cookie he received on check-in. It is certainly nicer than some of the Hiltons I've stayed at, I think others' comment of a "cosier Hilton" is rather apt.

Certainly beats the Hilton Kensington in London!!

I am constantly disappointed with Doubletree in the US. Doubletree Chicago Mag Mile charges Hilton prices, but is sorely lacking. And no exec lounge for Diamonds. Don't expect much.

Considering we have Hiltons here without an exec lounge, not expecting much is par of the course, and given all three hotels in Darwin dont have an existing lounge I would be surprised if they do when rebranded, that may change over time. Waiting for Hilton to recognize Darwin on their reservations site to see what sort of rates they will be asking.

Stayed at the Doubletree in Langfang (China) and was very pleased.

While I cannot compare to the Hilton Hotels/Resorts (as I do not stay at them) I must say the level of service and English-speakingness of the staff at the Doubletree was exceptional.

Asked the concierge if anywhere would have food at ~11:30pm and he walked us about a block out of the building into a small cafe. And then proceeded to order our food for us before walking back alone in the freezing cold all alone without any food of his own.

Only downside was the temperature of the rooms at night were ridiculously warm despite it being winter; and as far as I could tell we were unable to play with the temperature settings?

ASP has not come into being able to be booked either
