Hi,

I don't use my Citibank card that much anymore due to the points capping, but with the increase in the Qantas direct earn fee to $49, I have decided to quickly change my card to Qantas direct earn so I can get 1 year at the $19 rate.

However I have 400,000 Citibank points and am not sure what to do with them.

I am hesitant to transfer to Singapore Airlines as I am not sure I will use them all in the 1.5 or 3 year expiry period.

So I am thinking of either transferring them to Velocity or redeem them for gift vouchers. Both seem to be pretty bad redemption rates.

Any other suggestions?

I guess it comes down to this:

How much are the points worth to you if:
  1. Left in Citibank Rewards
  2. Converted to SQ
  3. Converted to DJ
  4. Redeemed for items you may need.
The answer to 1 is probably $0, the other should all be > $0.

The other option is try and convince citibank to convert the account to a citigold business card. If they do, the points will remain and you'll have the options of transfer points to qff in blocks of 10,000 points
