So, I've finally booked the Qantas FF Pilgrimage to Longreach Qld for a weekend in December.

Other than the Ultimate tour of The Qantas Founders Museum, what else do you recommend for me to fill a day?

Qantas didn't help with my choice of LRE - It seems you can't do a day trip and even worse, there's no QP!!! :)

It'll be a tad warm at that time, but dry heat not humid. I agree with markis10, do the Powerhouse Museum, QANTAS, and Stockmans hall of fame. Time the Hall of Fame around lunch time, and have a feed at the Cattlemans Bar and Restuarant, I have been there on numerous occassions, and have always eaten well. If you rent a car, a trip to Illfracombe to see the various farming plant that has been used in the district over the past 140 years, also a drive out to the Thompson River on the Winton road is pleasant.
No shortage of food outlets, and many varied booze houses, comfortable Motel accomodation in town is numerous, or cabins in the caravan parks.
As for the QP, the terminal is smaller than the QP in Brisbane, only one Dash8 3/400 per day, but enjoy the outback experience, I always do, I come from Longreach originally...........

Cheers Dee
