What the best seat(s) to choose in First class on A380?

I'd be surprised if that were literally true.
I was on that flight, I walked up the stairs. I saw the blanket draped over the area and saw the crew inside the blanketed off area with there shoes off and there feet up. Unless you were on that flight, on that day, you don't know, so don't put down people who were there

Why did you walk up the stars if you were in 1A?

Don't think I really need to explain myself, BUT, it was the middle of the night and I wanted to get some water and a packet of potato chips from the upstairs J class lounge, which is right at the top of the stairs, and didn't want to interrupt the CC, and I must point out, I am allowed to do it !!!

I always go upstairs and chill for a bit , especially while the bed is being made up. I always thought the lounge was for use by J and F passengers

Maybe there was something wrong with the crew rest area on that flight.
It's definitely not normal procedure

Accepted, and there did seem to be more than the normal amount of crew and a very empty flight so maybe more taking a rest at one time than normal.

As you wish. I just press the call button.

On another note, I would have been a little cranky if I was a J pax and wanted to go the J lounge area to sit

Don't really see why. Operational reasons often mean small inconveniences for travellers. Unlike the EK bar, personally, I've never found the area in front of emerald city to be attractive. May as well chill and have another red.

No it may not be that great for seasoned travellers who are used to the front of the plane, but for a first timer in J that pokey little area at the front would make them feel like they are in 7th heaven

I flew J on the A380 at least five times before it even occurred to me that that area was available. I was much more excited about the PJs to be honest.

I do exactly the same - when I want something once people are sleeping, I either go upstairs and get it or wander down to the F galley and ask. I feel it is less disturbing to other people than pressing a call button. While people are still awake I don't feel I need to press buttons either, as the crew are usually proactively asking if you want anything.

The better crews will notice if you are awake and ask if you want anything, but on the whole service is pretty minimal once the lights go out, as people getting their sleep is a priority.

Had 4A on LAX-MEL (QF94) a few weeks ago and it was fine. very little galley noise got through and I slept a good 9 hours. It was lovely :)

Like others I get up and go walkies - either when the bed is being changed, or just to stretch and, you know, get the circulation going a bit (stop that DVT nasty since my mum passed from one). I like to walk up the stairs too to check out what's in that little "bar" area up there plus it's a little bit of exercise to climb the stairs. I have looked in on the J lounge (waste of space on the 380 IMHO, they could do better I think) and never seen crew there. Hardly any peeps though once or twice a few hanging.

I once went to walk past the curtain on the lower deck to walk down the plane for exercise. The crew said "Oh you really don't want to go back there.." (in a fun, friendly way). It did give me a laugh.

Agree that light sources can be difficult, but the eye mask helps.
