What should I do with this wine?

So there I was, completing the purchase of 6 x 'Upside Down' Sav Blanc (don't laugh - it could be you one day), when the shop person reminded me to 'pick up one of the big red bottles on the way out'.

Eh? Oh ... for buying 1/2 doz of NZ's finest, I get a 1.5 litre bottle of their red for free. Okey-dokey, into the box and I'm away.

On unpacking, I am met with 1.5 litres of 'Red Blend'. Hmmm, what of, I wonder.

Well, that remains a mystery. There isn't a single grape variety on the bottle.

So, I have 1.5 litres of (presumably) the spillages off the winery's red production line. Since I'm a generous chap, I'm calling for help in deciding how to share my good fortune.

Should I:

* Invite penegal to lunch, telling him I'll BYO, then leave him to it?

* make a batch of spag bol, chuck the whole bottle contents in, then boil it down?

* take it to my next Uni lunch and revel that I'm actually improving the standard of wine?

* exchange the label for one from 1.5 litre of Rockford Basket Press and bring to wozza's next birthday bash as a gift?

* take it intravenously?

Happy to hear of other suggestions.

Take it to a student party and drink someone else's stuff, though i'm not sure whether you would feel out of place

Invite your wine friends around for a blind testing of a 'special wine' you've obtained.

Good idea; no, wouldn't feel out of place:

* I'm a student (again);
* Been doing that, in other settings, for years :shock::oops:;)

Have a dinner party.
Drink a bottle (or two, or three) of something better (a Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale shiraz, gsm or tempranillo springs to mind) then when you're all half plastered bring out the 1.5 litres of generic red.
And never buy cold climate reds again!
 
Sell it on Langtons.

More seriously, take it along to a party or something where it's not a serious wine event. A magnum always has novelty factor and chances are its going to be drinkable.
 
Thought I'd check Vivino - even they don't know what this is. Apparently the Upside Down Red Blend is a "white wine" made from "sauvignon blanc"! :)
