I'm off to JFK (VIA LAX) on the 22nd Nov.
I notice that QF has the older version and the referb seating arrangement. Can anyone tell me which one I should expect ? QF107
Currently I cant see the seating map because of the change of planes in LAX.

I should mention that a couple of months ago I rang up QF and they told me was I was seating in row 50 (bulkhead) but I know thats not a bulkhead in the new config.

At this stage it is chance as to what config you will get. If the plane you are scheduled to fly on is needed elsewhere, you may indeed find yourself on the other config!

QF107 on the 22/11/12 is currently scheduled to be a reconfigured A380 with the small Y cabin on the upper deck and Y starting at row 48 on the lower deck.

Does Expert Flyer tell you that? How do I find out on EF if that is the case!

Have a look at the seat map! :)
yep - look at SYD-LAX, not SYD-JFK.

The 388's don't go to JFK for QF currently.

FWIW, LAX-JFK on that date is a new 3 class refurb with Economy starting with the full set of 10 seats in row 43.

Yeah I knew that, is why I cant choose a seat without calling Qantas.

No mini-y cabin :(
Looks like I'm stuck in 50c .. QF tried to offer me the last row because its 2 seater (traveling my myself) .. I said I was quite happy with Row 50.

Nothing wrong with row 50 on the old config 380

I've done row 50 a few times and it is pretty good..

Or are we referring to the 747 between LAX and JFK?

Sorry, was referring to the A380.

Last trip on a 747 was on the old style cabin, front row on that which was better IMO than the A380 because the foot wells were cut out.

Row 50 on new config A380. It was the old config which was a bulkhead seat.
I stay in Row 50 on the ongoing lax-jfk, not so worried about that.
