What makes a "Frequent" flyer?

And some people who fail to reach those status levels may still be frequent flyers based on a significant number of discounted domestic sectors.

Hehehe, I got to OneWorld Emerald doing almost exclusively discounted domestic economy. This year, I'm doing about half discounted domestic economy and half discounted international economy in terms of the dollar value and I set to retain Platinum. I think I do way too much flying (especially in economy).

I'll toss something up in ther air:

A Frequent Flyer is someone who in a year:

- Travels a minimum of 20 air segments OR

- Travels a minimum of 40,000 air miles.

Opine at your leisure ...
I'm not a Frequent Flyer :!: :(

I suggest that anyone who attains the requirement for OneWorld Sapphire (earned, not challenged) or OneWorld Emerald (or equiv status levels in any FF program) could be called a Frequent Flyer.
I am a Frequent Flyer :!: :D

One of the things that amazed me about this site when I found it earlier in the year was the number of people that actually tracked the details of their travel. Since then, I have done a great deal of travel and spent many hours in airport lounges and in hotel rooms, and I too now keep track (what else do you do?). At last count I had made 62 flights this year and spent just over 14 days in the air, plus many more sitting in lounges and waiting to take off. I guess I am a "Frequent" flyer. Next week should be my last trip for the year and I am seriously looking forward to staying home over Christmas and enjoying the sunshine.

Cheers...M

I am around 70 flights for the year... and if I happen to travel with a work mate they are bemused by the fact that I will take a note of the aircraft number and name... often they have had to wait while I duck around the other side of the gate lounge to have a look at the plane to get the details.... I then cop a little further ribbing from them...

This site is pretty cool for keeping tabs on your flights, click on this link below to see my details..

Welcome TanyaGordon. Hmmm, you weren't the scribe that interviewed Dave Noble a few weeks back for some articles, were you??

Nope, I'm not a journo, it's IT&T for me. ;)

LOL That is so funny! I work with and get to occasionally travel with my partner, and he does this too, and if we're at the gates early, he'll do a whip around and look at all the other planes at the other gates too. :D He has a really good memory, so he can usually tell me when the last time he was on this particular aircraft.
