What is your business class fare limit ?

I miss the ex cmb j class on QR. Did many a two for one deals. For about 4500 for 2. Then a SQ or QF/UL for about 2500 each it was good price but it took 40 hours to get to Lisbon from Sydney and 4 stops. I think there are some good j class fares ex Manila Bkk and CGk ..I think circa 6k to Europe is a good deal if 1 stop. 8k on the likes of JAL or QF is ok...you need to add the time differential to the calculation...

Aye, but everything else was and still is, 10k plus. Other than convoluted 2+ stops and 39hours etc - they were in the 7k+ mark.
It's for a huge family occasion and we are happy with this one off extravagance.

I think some airlines are leveraging better economies by charging them higher fares to subsidise economies with weaker demand.

I would suggest you try Qantas reward to go to Jakarta and see if that works. How about Bali?
Is EY's DPS-AUH-EUR is as cheap as CGK?

EVA only $4400… avoiding gulf and a top tier J class.

Yes… except there’s a huge premium market out of CGK. One of the few short routes SQ consistently flies F cabins to!

The airlines with middle eastern hubs are probably desperate to sell tickets when they could be interfered-with at any time by an attempt by Agent Orange to divert attention away from … local events.

Except KUL is a little harder to get to in J on points v CGK and MNL.

I agree. Yet if only you want to experience Business and just a ticket to Europe, that'd be a good choice.

I think you can connect with AIrAsia Premium Lieflat to bring down the cost.
