And to think I considered choosing those seats. I just needed to know that my friend could lean against the "wall" and not have some open void next to her and the wall IYKWIM. Those seats are now chosen. As per usual I was looking at the map the wrong way and thinking green ones were chosen seats and grey were free. So yeah go on say it I'm a twit. Haven't been feeling the best lately - lots of migraines and going to the doctor tomoz. Sorry @Cruiser Elite for causing you such drama!!! 😘 And thank you everyone else for your help, especially @boomy for braving the long trek down the aisle to the plebs - which I will be one of  Tried to talk my friend into going Business. Lay back seats I told her as well as everything else. But she wasn't having it. By the time she decided yeah let's do that, the price had gone up another $1000ish o_O

What???? They have inflight service at the back???. Wait, I thought????.

They serve cute little meals in boxes on a tray, it’s adorable 😊

Hang on, did you actually walk alllll the way back? :)

Well I tried to order buggy but apparently SQ don’t offer this onboard service, go figure 🤷‍♂️
Then I tried to ask +1 to join me on the excursion. She asked why, is there a bar at the back? No that’s Emirates, never mind…

So this wasnt really answered, and i really want to know is this a void area, or can you still rest against the window? I know other airlines with similar layout, just have a small space there.

Hi Patchy! I have taken my trip on Singapore Airlines and we didn't end up choosing those seats - the two seats at the back were only available on our return flight. But I made sure to check as I boarded and the answer is a disappointing - no you will not be able to rest against the window as there is a forking great space between the "window" seat and the actual wall of the plane. Maybe if you had a big enough pillow or two to stuff in there but it just didn't look comfy at all. All in all though I found the trip to be fine in the seats we booked. I had window on the way over and middle seat on the way back (Economy).

In the old days this was one of those Boeing vs Airbus differences - On the Boeing 747 they had the void like the photo above but the cabin taper is far more pronounced so usually only one row would get any significant void there. On aircraft like the A300/A310/A330/A340 the usual layout was the outboard seats would follow the wall and instead the middle section would lose a seat. My memory is that long ago they were often centred but with refits and newer aircraft the centre section would follow the left aisle with the right-most seat getting a little bonus aisle for a couple of rows... this latter approach making tray tables and other seatback fixtures simpler.

Singapore A330 examples:

A "centred" example:

Could be up to the airline though - I can see multiple examples of 777 rear cabin photos on that site where the outboard seats go from three to two and follow the cabin wall.
