Just about finished writing my TR for USA and I'm wondering what the limit is for photos per post.
Just so I can break it up into two or more posts.
Cheers

They let me get away with 10.I do resize my photos on picassa though.

I don't think there's a limit if you self host the photos though? I do that anyway :)

Yes, they're self hosted, and resized, but should show as a picture not a link. I'm about to find out...

Is there a total photo upload limit? I'm mid-stream on a TR and I have been able to upload iPhone photos but now I am getting a message saying it is not a valid file

There is a total size limit, not sure that might be the issue, I ran into the same last week using the iPad app. Admin and Support can help re the size limit, just send them a PM, from memory its 15Mb of uploads?

If you upload the photos using the attachment system (i.e. through an app or through the forum attachment system), the maximum is 5 attachments per post.

The maximum number of images (including smilies and hot-linked images) is 10 per post. (This can include the maximum of 5 attachments allowed through the attachment system). If you exceed the maximum number of images per post, the forum will not accept your post and tell you how many images you have (i.e. over the 10 allowed), which you will then need to re-edit your post and then click submit to try posting again.

Make sure when you put a link in between the
tags that the URL is the direct hot-link to the picture file, not the URL to a page that contains the picture, otherwise you will not display the picture here. Some picture sites have the URL in a form that can be used in forums, web pages etc., which is found close to the picture itself.

Do we know why there is a limit?

No, but I'm sure the people behind the forum software have their reasons. It's likely to do something with spam, or simply user friendliness (i.e. not everyone can - at least in the old days - read in posts which have 100 pictures in them).

The old limit on AFF used to be 6 from what I could remember - can't tell when the limit was raised to 10. FlyerTalk has a limit of 20 per post.
