What is the most QFF points you have ever had in the bank at any one time?

Have some strange (ie. not understood by wife) personal milestone goal to get to 1 mil, before my higher earning years come to an end. Keep getting to around 900K and then spending some on kids' travel to family events. But hope to get to LTG, 1 mil points before retiring, and after that, will do the 2x J RTW.

Currently have 600K, but split between QF and VA unfortunately. Looks like half the family might be on a different flight next year to Europe :)

I like to keep enough for a return trip to Asia at short notice, and beyond that I'm usually of the "earn and burn" mentality. More so of late, due to uncertainty over the outlook for J/FASAs.

absolutely agree. In a world of QFF "enhancements" and "streamlining of the program", the best strategy is to burn 'em as you earn 'em

Currently sitting at exactly 500K, but still waiting for credits from MH & EK flights, plus the MH flights will give me enough SC's for my WP+ bonus... This will give me about 70K more... Then with flights for the rest of the year already booked, another 50K-60K should come my way. Pity I don't earn much from CC's as all my work earned points go to a work pool... Damn company CC! :)

I'll probably burn almost everything next year with 4x Y RTW Awards... We'll see if I can get 4-5 weeks leave first....

500k would be the best - I am afraid I am terribly spendthrift - as soon as we have points I am looking to spend them. :)

got to 2 million, but after booking plenty of trips in recent times, am now down to 650,000. However, that will go up significantly after my next tax bill and some upcoming long haul trips.

I've only managed just over 200,000 so far, most of which I burnt just an hour before QF removed the JASAs from their website.

Scott.

Following my Ansett experience, I keep no more than about 400,000. I realise QF in a much better position but I like burning them now. Not much good later and you're dead a long time.

Matt

My wife and I would have over 500,000 in points. Never actually needed to spend any as I have always seemed to find really insanely cheap flights whenever we have need to travel for leisure. Probably just keep saving and then blow them all on 2 x RTW J tickets.

The most I have had is 460,000 but I have been using them for ASAs.
I tend to dip into +1's account first when I need to redeem ;). After all, if it wasn't for me, he wouldn't even have an account!

Currently at approx. 620,000, burnt approx 500K recently taking wife and 3 kids recently to Bali. I must say that my US colleagues aren't allowed to keep theirs. So whatever I have is a bonus

About 300k for me, down to about 220k now... Should start looking into what that can get me from perth? reckon I could get QFF GOLD?

35,000 ... i have peaked my VA accounts at about 400-500k and generally draw them down when i hit that number.

About 400K but at moment only 165K as I try to use them to keep from getting too many.
It would be good if there was some way QANTAS could tell me my lifetime points earn by the website, maybe an "Enhancment", I think it would be a great thing to have on the account page.

After Ansett, we only keep a max of 250-500k in the QFF bank. Over that one needs to go somewhere!

That is a good strategy to have although some people have a wish list of how they would like to spend the points.

My wish list is not possible as long as I am living in Sydney and commuting to work in Brisbane. I am not going to throw points away on things I do not need.

Hopefully not too many "enhancements" between now and the time I am ready to spend them.

1.32m & earning faster than I'm spending but that will soon change in a few years as starting to retire. I like the Amex points as I can transfer then anywhere. Had just over 1/2 mil & used 320 odd K on 2 SQ J returns to London leaving in 2 weeks.

Just remember the first ten million points are the hardest and leave your PIN handy just in case.
