What is best hope of getting in and out of Australia in first class?

Hi,

I've got an AA first class award booking using Malaysian to get to Europe but of course that is only first class from KUL to CDG and business class from Mel to KUL.

I don't mind paying a change fee if can find a first class all the way alternative that isn't BA as don't want to pay the higher taxes.

What routes should I be monitoring? What route is the best hope of getting first class all the way?

My flights are in May so hoping some last minute availability might come up all the way for 2 of us.

Not sure if you've considered Etihad? I believe they fly first class to CDG from MEL, via AUH. AFAIK, they are an AA partner.

Are you allowed to use them for AAdvantage awards?

I think so.

I called recently about a business class award SYD-ATH/SKG and AA offered a routing on the way over with Etihad with terrible connections but no availability for the return.

I'm flying to LHR 1st class on QF9 but booked significantly in advance. No idea if availability opens up later but it is the whole way 1st class (from MEL).
