Hi
A friend is travelling throughAKL- LAX and has a chance to pop into the Qantas / AA lounge in terminal 4 before traveling to JFK.
She was wondering what the lounge offers and all I can remember is a shower and coffee. Do they offer food other than nuts, and are drinks via vouchers.
Thanks

The business class lounge has limited food and as per most AA lounges anything more than nuts/pretzels is available for purchase. Qantas members receive drinks vouchers for use at the bar.

The First Class (Flagship) lounge has very good food options that vary by time of day, and a self-service bar.

The Flagship lounge also offers free WiFi vouchers, which aren't available in the regular AA lounge (where WiFi access is available only to Admirals Club members or via a paid day-pass). The vouchers can be used in any AA lounge so if you're visiting several locations on your trip where there is only an AC and not a Flagship lounge be sure to stock up on the vouchers where you can.

As for buying food in the AC - personally I'd prefer just to duck out to the public area and grab a bite from one of the many providers there. Even Burger King & Starbucks are better offerings in my opinion.

We flew out of T4 'last' night (Fri night US time) for LAX-BNE on QF. We got into the lounge around 9ish or so, and not long after, there were crackers and cheese (pre-cut cubes, including that orange stuff Americans call cheese). A bit later, as I went to the bar to use a voucher, I noticed some sandwiches there as well.I would guess that this food is to cater for the BNE and MEL QF flights departing T4 late in the evening.

Your friend shouldn't count on much more than pretzels, perhaps mini muffins/cookies, and coffee/tea, plus the drink voucher.
