What irritates you most while flying?

I recently sat in front of a guy who kept 'flapping' his legs into the seat back for the whole of 90 min... I wanted to sleep, but I couldn't get to sleep with my seat back constantly wobbling. I didn't like that.

never be afraid to speak up! it might have been his first flight ever and was just so excited.....usually they are unaware, so be polite and explain the situation once, however if they do it a second time then open up a can of whoop-cough!!! :D

for all those sydney-siders - it like traveling on the train when then two peeps are occupying a 3-seater, however one is sitting in the window position and the other the isle position, which leaves the middle seat vacant. If a polite suggestion to the isle seater doesn't make them shift into the middle, then they deserve being walked over, a quick over-the-shoulder-bag slap to the face, being half sat on and a receiving a colourful verbal description of what you think of them.....;) (im so glad that I now live close enough to work that I can walk!!!)

:D

my anger is now focused on those pesky Fitness First peeps trying to give you a "free" gym pass every single morning!!!! aaggghhhhhhh!

(I really am a calm and collective guy..truely!)

Hmmm.... your avatar is hardly befitting this new agressive behavioural pattern you are exhibiting....;)

You won't get me vacating a prized aisle seat on a train - If offered such a polite suggestion, I would just as politely move a little to allow you to politely (hopefully) make way into the middle. Of course should you be using a white cane, crutches, be tethered to a seeing eye dog etc, my actions may vary from the above.

Yes - you would refer them to the pre-reserved seating at the train entrance and ask them why they struggled down the stairs to a more difficult seat ;)

:D i wouldn't call any seat on the sydney train system "prized" ;)

ggrrrr I'm sure there are more than a few of us who know the feeling although lately it does seem to be better.

I rarely recline my seat so people behind me must love me! We watched movies on our recent flights and nodded off. It does anoy me when the person in front reclines straight away and I have no qualms about asking the FA to get them to put their seats upright for meals.

I would really like to see airlines install a non-reclining section for people who like to sit upright and like to sit behind other upright seats. Maybe the first 5 rows on the right side of the plane-non recliners? Or more if they are popular?

Don't like it. On full flights I might cop one, and I don't want to be stuck upright for the whole flight, particularly if I'm sleeping.

How did trains get into this? I agree with an earlier post - it took me years to get to platinum, and one of the benefits is that I always get my isle seat. Why would I give it up? I can get up and walk around any time I feel like it. From experience, I know that most people get glued to their seats on a plane - I get up regularly to exercise. I do hate those people who insist on walking over me instead of politely asking if I'd get up and let them out.

Thanks - for anyone not familiar, this stands for Off Topic. I try to avoid the abbreviations - not sure how many people know them. For any interested, there's an excellent summary by Blacknox on 26/10/05. Just search abbreviations in "your search criteria" and you'll find it. Without this knowledge, we would be lost on a lot of these postings.

Ah yes, I can just picture it - deck chair on the beach, lots of palm trees, and a view over the lagoon. Now that is truly flying first class!:p

Maybe I've just been lucky but even as an NB I always got an aisle seat, even on the first plane out of CBR to anywhere, they're all packed with members, most of whom have some serious status.

I did fly Cathay recently where I was the only one in F class. There's something decadent about lying on the floor in flight pajamas doing stretching exercises with three Asian ladies attending to almost all my needs (only the respectable ones - Qantas still holds the record for additional flight services, but not for me)

A better suggestion would be to have recliners at the back of the aircraft. A person who likes to recline should have a recliner in front of them.

I think the worst offender is a recliner who pre-allocates a bulkhead or exit row.
