Sri Lankan fare in Galle - getting into the hoppas

For dinner: prawn curry hoppa with chocolate biscuit mousse for dessert (both delicious!). Abt $10.

Food in Sri Lanka was great - and this reminded me of how much I enjoyed it!

Do you put salt on your papaya after the lime squeeze? My friend (grew up in Mexico) taught me that trick and it’s so good!

Sometimes I feel rich, even when I am not. This morning I felt like that after going to a market and getting some vegetables :)

Am hanging out in a fishing village in Chile these days, and so I got up early and went to the twice-weekly small market - this is the traditional way Chileans buy most of their fresh stuff - even when supermarkets took off here decades ago, the people still wanted the markets.

So anyway, this was my haul:
