What happens if you are booked to fly with SQ but they end up cancelling that route?
Do they refund you, wipe their hands clean and say sorry, we can't help you or will they try to accommodate you through another city/airport?

what happened with all the YVR travelers?
Sounds like they may have been moved to SEA:

Scared much? 🙃

I'd like to think if the cancellation happens close to your departure date, accommodating you on an alternative service (e.g. partner) at no further cost to you is expected, especially if such a partner operates the same exact route.

If it's months out, you may just get a refund and that's that (unless it was a ticket on KF miles that are now expired). But it is SQ; they may be prepared to reason more than other carriers, but you may need to call them.

That's good. I would assume SQ will help get flights from SEA to YVR too then.

Haha yes I am. 1 failed flight can do a huge ripple effect

With BRU-SIN, SQ do have codeshares between BRU and LHR, MUC, ZRH & FRA. Certainly for commercial fares I'd say they'd probably reroute you onto codeshare. Might take some effort with award booking though.

But it is a new route, commencing in April, so I expect it won't disappear instantly. SQ usually give routes some time to establish, but they may or may not tweak frequencies.

Is there something to be aware of with BRU-SIN, i'm planning on making this part of my european itinerary later in the year
Nothing wrong.
Like what Dajob said, it is a new route so I doubt they will cancel it anytime soon.

The route did get cancelled a long time ago and was supposed to be back in 2020 but covid stopped that.

Good to have the reassurance the airline will make alternative arrangements though
