Hi all,

Late last year VA put out that they were departing from TBIT, even though checkin was T3 ....have they gone back to T3 for departures now?
Which lounges are available in T3?
Whats this dress code for priority pass "shoes" does that mean dress shoes or smart walking shoes acceptable?

Check bags in at the usual t3 counter but then walk to TBIT and go thru security to the new dining cafe shops areas on the way to the gate.

im guessing no bare feet..thongs/flip flops.. open toe/feet 'sandals'.... quite a reasonable code in my opinion

sadly 'public transport' has become waaaaay tooo 'public'

Very short walk. The new lounge in TBIT is actually pretty nice. I rather preferred the business to the first class lounge (you have access if you are WP). Drink the first class drinks then walk out to the balcony if the weather is nice.

Well I rang VA and they said nope it will be T3 departure gate as per confirmation ticket...they were surprised too?
So is the Virgin Loft still there in T3?

Strange. The last LAX ticket i had read

I checked in at T3 and then walked across. Hopefully one off.

TERMINAL 3

Just checked November ticket and even though it says T3...I left via TBIT grrrr
Probably to get you to checkin
Pretty average VA Staff here could not confirm same deal this time round :/

Check in a t3. They is to ensure there is misunderstanding. Few travellers are entitled to use *A lounge . there are directions from t3 to the lounge and gate which is actually in TBIT.

Best to say T3 otherwise passengers, travel novices would get lost.....

there are plenty of travel novices. Just today when dropping daughter for next trip to YVR via LAX on VA then AC, the checkin chick said cant check through luggage to YVR because of strict rules at US airports. I smiled and kindly said actually its because VA does not have an interline agreement with AC. I also said qantas can so its not a lax rule ( i had expected that daughter would have to checkin bags again)

Another travel novice is the bali bogan who got escorted off unceremoniously at Bali yesterday

Maybe VA can pull the wool over their pax eyes because a greater proportion of their travellers are novices????

Los Angeles Airport Guide | Virgin Australia

As already posted, (and assuming nothing is changing), it's to convince PAX to check in at T3.

Virgin Australia flights depart from Terminal 3, and arrive at Tom Bradley International Terminal, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

From 1 December 2013, all Virgin Australia flights will depart from Tom Bradley International Terminal B.

Please note: Check-in for Virgin Australia flights remains at Terminal 3.

With 5500 square metres of retail and dining options, stylish furnishings, public art and plenty of power point access to charge your mobile devices, the terminal is designed to ensure the best possible travel experience for customers.

We look forward to providing our guests with a more enjoyable and uniquely LA experience offered by Tom Bradley International Terminal.

It's quite likely that it was a ground handler/contractor doing the checkin for VA where there is often a high turnover of staff who just don't have the same level of experience as actual employees of an airline.

My parents are doing SYD/LAX on VA then were going to YVR on AC & I found out that there's no interline agreement with VA & AC so would need to pickup bags & relodge. In the end I suggested they fly out to LAX the day prior & overnight so there's no stress re misconnecting with separate pnrs on airlines outside of an alliance. They're now flying AS LAX/YVR the day after.

Although QF & AC do have an interline agreement for bags & an IATCI agreement for boarding passes, all flights must be in the same pnr because QF won't do it otherwise.
