Easier to get SC if I want to travel J.
huh?
One could argue that VA has lower status thresholds for status, but this isn't a VA love fest
Back to QF
- Crews are usually VERY good. I've only come across a few surly/poor examples (bad days) in several hundred flights over the past few years
- obviously I get a bit better recognition as a P1, but in reality I find most passengers get treated pretty much the same on board which I like to see (and given the first comment, that means good flights for everyone)
- As others have said F lounges - MEL/SYD/LAX and the newer "combined" lounges at SIN/HKG and PER Dom J.
- The wine selection on dom has actually been better with more variety since the rockpool wine crew took over (surpisingly!)
- Some of the catering has also been really good. I could do without more toasted turkey sangas on dom J and the cheese box but some of the mains have been outstanding (had a fantastic tenderloin and roasted veg on SYD-MEL a few weeks ago for dinner) and even the boxes in Y have been a real improvement (but fair to say I've had limited exposure to these, luckily)
- While QFF awards are poor value for most things (as discussed elsewhere) things like upgrades offer real value in many instances to me
- I loved that I could use my P1 status (I know applies to very few) to have a good shot to upgrade my NB sister for MEL-LAX to J as a surprise
- I've almost forgotten the "cricket" safety video
Inconsistency is still a problem in various areas, but most often QF get it pretty right, are usually very punctual and have far better protection and support for customers (that I have seen) when things go awry (I can count 2 cancels over the past 5+ years, and one of those was a return to gate with an issue found during taxi).
