Mrs F is on a run through Asia and is staying at 4 different Hiltons all booked through her corp travel agent Egencia (Part of Expedia).

When I rang Hilton Honours to attach her Diamond number, I was told there was no point as Diamond status was not going to receive points nor any benefits.
This is the first time I have ever heard such a thing.

She checked into the SIN Hilton last night & was given exec lounge access, but nothing else...

Anyone had anything similar?

To paraphrase the T&C's of HHonors, unless a booking is made via a Hilton family website or with Hilton Telephone sales then elite benefits may not be applicable for that booking.

This does not prevent benefits being provided at the discretion of individual properties.

Most chains don't recognize third party bookings as eligible bookings for points etc, it's becoming a big grey area for status benefits.

Thanks Serfty,
I usually book direct,so I had not come across this before.
As MrsF has to book via Engencia this may rule out Hilton for future bookings.
She is currently booking 4-5 nights per week every week for the foreseeable future.
As she is now top tier across several programmes this will be Hilton's loss I guess.

Our corporate travel agent is Egencia and I have earned HH points and received status recognition on every single trip.

I will check her account over the next few days to see if the points land, but am not getting too excited.
What is galling is that Engencia are charging what looks like to be full rack rate.
She is now in Shanghai, and when she gets up this morning, I will ask her what her treatment was like.
It will be interesting to see.

What is charged or quoted on the itin is often not what the final price is, a previous workplace of mine usually got a 60% rebate on hitting targets.

While this can often happen, there are no guarantees.
