My Medicare card expired in May but I did not receive a replacement.
I need to get into Medicare via MyGov to request a new one.
But MyGov has, without any warning, locked me out even though I'm using the same usewrname and password that's worked for the last few years. Email address login won't work either. I think the system wants me to increase the strength of my credentials.
Gah! Why won't it let me in using the credentials that worked until recently and then tell me to increase the strength?
So I try to set up a new MyGov account. I scan my passport OK but then it needs another form of ID - driver's license or - you guessed it - Medicare card.
The system will not recognise my WA MDL (it does say some states' MDLs aren't recognised.)
Double Gah!

I need the updated Medicare card as the second authenticator, so tomorrow it is going to be a trip to Medicare (and possibly Services Australia) to sort out this mess. Hopefully they can give me a digital Medicare card as apparently a new plastic card takes a few weeks to produce.
Sheesh!
