What cheeses me off

Glass on one of our solar panels has shattered, presumably from a largish dead branch. WRCMO is that it came from the limb that we wanted removed.
We only wanted this one limb gone, bad luck the govie tree people said, the tree has been here longer than you have.
Of course, this useless local gov wants us all to produce our own electricity, clowns...... :(

bad luck the govie tree people said,
I had a battle with council over the removal of a dead and bleached gum tree.

No permission provided because it could provide habitat for birds.

OK, except that dead tree in sitting on 2 acres of turpentine gums. Now why would birds sit in a tree with no leaves when adjacent to it is 50 other trees with leaves.🤔

Second WCMO of the day?

TV… news… reporters… who… can… only… report… their… stories… through… the… use… of… excruciatingly… stilted… speech. Do… these… people… seriously… not… know… how… to… speak… in… a… natural… manner?

CNN are probly the worst. Ustand it’s a learned ‘house’ style to give weight and drama, and jeez it’s irritating.

The birds need tree hollows to roost in, a rapidly diminishing resource as people cut down old growth trees. It can take 50yrs for a hollow to develop in a Sydney Blue Gum for instance.

WCMO is deciding to order a new genuine battery from Dyson ( don’t want to risk cheap Chinese lithiums when device is plugged in continuously ) and finding after dismantling the old appliance when new battery arrives (in only 2 days!) that the screws don’t fit and you’ve ordered the V6 when you need a V7 version. Only self to blame.

No problem with return and refund and ordering new one but PITB.

That is, apart from the dead/dying (or even currently healthy) branch overhanging the roof. Lopping one dangerously overhanging branch did not affect the rest of our healthy jarrah tree.
