What cheeses me off

So it would appear that Latitude has sent my 28 Degrees card to Sydney.

I've got residential address Toowong and postal address Sydney and I told the person to send to send Toowong. Yep it will be sent to Toowong. They've obviously not bothered to override anything.
If you have a separate postal address then that is where it will go. Because it's an address where your correspondence will go to otherwise, well, why even put it on the record.

NAB were good at telling me my new card would go to my home address not postal. When I asked for it to go to my postal I am told that isn’t secure. They don’t seem to understand that I have a PO Box because my home letterbox isn’t secure! Sheesh.

Its been a couple of years since I had a NAB CC but used to have no issue with PO Box; but something has changed recently.

Whilst my NAB replacement for my Citi Debit went to my PO box as that is what Citi had on file, every time I log into NAB Online banking I see an indicator that my personal information is not complete and it relates to postal address and doesn't allow me to enter a PO Box address in that field which is utterly ridiculous.

The mail boxes at my residence are not secure, they get broken into weekly which is why I have a PO Box which by the way nothing has every gone missing from given it is 100 time more sturdy than a residential letter box plus the Post Office has CCTV to capture anyone trying to smash it open (whereas our Strata wont put cctv cameras on the letter boxes).

I've been meaning to write a complaint letter about this to NAB for ages; no other Australian bank has an issue sending my replacement cards to a PO Box.

Oh, when you don’t have a home post box at all because there’s no postal delivery in your area. It’s amazing the number of sites that simply will not allow you to enter other than a home postal address for delivery.

Or getting to the passport control counter and when asked for their passport look surprised and go hunting through their bag. Did the name “Passport control” not give you a hint.
I was travelling with a friend in Japan and we had JR rail passes. She would drive me nuts as she would wait to get to the gate then rummage through the bag to find it, then stand there putting it away in a 'safe' zippered section. I would try to get her to have it out ready then guide her through the gate and stop out of the traffic to put it back. Patience of a saint.

Just how oblivious are people?
Transport Canberra is starting a new ticketing system. The old system was turned off today, with free travel for the next 4-6 while the equipment for the new system is rolled out.

There has been notices on the buses, at major stops/interchanges and on the Transport Canberra websites about this for the past 3 months.
They put notices over the on bus card readers last night.
The amount of people I saw on the bus today getting confused when the card reader failed to read their card (because they were tapping on top of the notice to a reader that was turned off), then get even more confused when they are told it is free (assuming they'd been paying before the system was turned off).

I guess it doesn't help when people keep spewing misinformation about it.
Between drivers and other passengers today, I've heard that it is free "today", "for the next week", "for the next 4-5 weeks" and "until the election". Not a single mention to the confused people that it's free because the ticketing system is changing, and the reason those confused people are confused is because they aren't able to read posters that have been put everywhere related to the transport network for months.

The JR Passes were easier when it was just walk through the manned "help" office beside the ticket gates and show the staff the pass.
There had been talk of moving the passes onto IC cards, but they went with the paper tickets instead.
When I last had a JR pass, during summer last year, the pass had gotten damaged from the heat and station staff couldn't scan the QR code when I went in to get a shinkansen ticket. They had to pull out their manuals and work out how to reissue the pass before their computer was able to read it and issue a shinkansen ticket.

More likely the driver / pxs were in distress or they are older people with medical issues or the hospital is slow in discharging patient?
Who knows - but the other elderly people that came and went while I was waiting for my own lift managed to navigate with him no more than five minutes.

This elderly person was waiting for their lift on the curb and got into it in a minute flat 😊

While I am a paying member now, I was driven to do so after a particularly bad bout of ads that made the site unusable, but if I was just a guest clicking into AFF I’d be inclined to just close the webpage altogether.

YouTube, on the other hand, while annoying with ads, doesn’t actually stop you from watching the videos you want in the end. I pay for YouTube Premium all the same, but I didn’t feel like I was forced to do so.

.......
That was what we were doing - the time she took to get her pass out to show the staff member!
I have been in shops with her where she rattles round a purse to find change to pay for something.
She is a very good friend though so must accept is just her.

Thankfully the JR pass price has reduced its value because of price so I just downloaded the Suica card to phone and will just pass that over instead. Is she a cruising friend? 😂. And enjoy that by the way.

lol. Reminds me of Judge Judy…

‘have you got your lease agreement?’
‘no ma’am’
‘you came to court today, what did you think you’d be doing?’

Might have been “those people” who just join a queue when they come across one. 🙄

This is the friend who met us in Hong Kong - she is turning 80 and becoming very frail so don't think she will be travelling much in the future. My cruising friend is younger - more about my age 🤣
