Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Since the demise of the Adelaide Hyatt, I have stayed at Hilton Adelaide about 15+ times (including 2 weeks ago) - NEVER had any problems... either with rooms, upgrades or recognition. They even remember to get my bedding preference (ie a topsheet) correct every time.

Must have been incredibly lucky!

Also a big thumbs up to Hilton Surfers Paradise - very nice.

however an interesting comment from a Hilton I stayed recently - "Welcome Back Esquire- as a REAL Diamond member.... " ...a pot-shot at all the new VA Diamonds? :D

I don't like the sound of that...is our money not good enough Mr Hilton????

I'd like to know how they can even tell at the front desk.... do they have access to your Hilton history right there???

Yes, they can see how many stays you have had under your HHonors account since you joined; how many 'recently', how many at the hotel itself, etc.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The cynic in me has to ask though, if these comments ever get read normally :?:

They frequently do not seem to read your basic HH preferences so why would they read this info either :?:

I think it really depends on the hotel and their management.two examples I had whilst still diamond was first the Conrad BKK-at checkin I was told-'I see you stay at conrad's frequently so we have upgraded you to a larger room on the Exec Floor"
Then at a Hampton in NY state was told something like i can see you are a valuable Hhonors member so I have put you in our suite.
At other places though they have not even realised I was a returning guest.
So if the GM is into customer relations then they probably do look at it at some stage otherwise it is hit or miss.
