Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I don't think you can combine the 15% online redemption discount with the loyalty voucher?
I just ran a dummy redemption booking BNE-HKG and I didn't see a field to enter a coupon/voucher. Looks like the voucher at this stage needs to go via the call centre.

Looks like we need to consider the T&C printed on the Voucher. I found this in the Westpac Krisflyer T&Cs.
15.8 Discount mile vouchers
(a) Provided your Card Account is in order, you will be issued with a Singapore Airlines voucher
on or about each anniversary of the day the applicable Annual Card Fee is charged or due to
be charged to your Card Account.

(b) This voucher entitles you to a discount on Miles required for redemption or upgrade awards for travel on Singapore Airlines operated flights as determined by Singapore Airlines and subject
to the terms and conditions of the KrisFlyer Programme. For details refer to the voucher for
the full set of Terms and Conditions.

(c) Westpac and Singapore Airlines reserve the right to change the terms and conditions applicable to the issue of these vouchers at any time without prior notice.
My emphasis.

and of course, no bank documentation would be complete without (c).

From my memory, someone posted a while back that the flight had to be booked within 6 months. So really you could use it for a flight 18 months away.

Yes I posted 11 posts back:

I must admit that I am VERY disappointed as:
* Voucher has to be redeemed in only a 6 month window.

* It is not really 50% as it includes the 15% you already get for booking online. ie is really only 35%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can redeem for almost a year out. So it gives you an 18 month window. These days I redeem in J or F...so not sure I will use it.

I think they should really relax the rule and let customers redeem J class seats as well using the loyalty voucher.

It gives a bit of flexibility.

Otherwise I wouldn't be using the voucher at all, as I always use my points to redeem J class seats.

Sadly not.

4. Account holder must redeem the offer and complete travel within 6 months. The valid from and valid to dates are displayed on the voucher.

Just to make it even harder, here's a couple more conditions. It's definitely more restrictive than I had first thought. Also not valid on Silk Air.

5. No changes, cancellations or refunds are allowed once the redemption ticket is issued.
9. You will not be able to make use of this offer if the selected flight is on waitlist.

Thanks for finding out the exact conditions. I was also thinking along the line that the travel must be completed within 6 months.

So I would rather take advantage of the 15% online redemption, and this is much more beneficial it seems.

Cheers

Here is the full text for the offer. It is available as part of PDF in Westpac online. I also received a hard copy.

Looks like you need to redeem AND travel within 6 months, and it looks like that the promo won't be available until 1 July 2010, and can only be used on online SQ redemptions only, not *A and even SilkAir flights.

The six month window is probably going to mean I will miss out on the benefit of the voucher this year. All of my SQ travel is already booked and paid for H1.

Other options : offer it to a colleague/friend and if they take it up add them as a Redemption nominee and then remove them (1,500 miles). This would convert some of the points to cash assuming I can get them to pay more than the taxes of the fare. I dare not even look in the SQ T&Cs about that. Probably not worth the hassle.

Change renewal date : contact Westpac and adjust my card renewal date so that my next voucher gets issued for a period in which I can plan os travel. For instance, my 'next' voucher would be good if it covered travel in the Jan-Jun period which covers Easter and more chance for family travel when I can put the Albatross offspring into Y.

Possible itineraries with voucher value:
................Saver.....Saver(15% disc).....Saver( voucher).... Net Saving
BNE-LHR....95,000...........80,750 ...........75,000 ................. 5.750
BNE-SIN....55,000...........46,750 ........... 30,000 .................16.750
BNE-PVG....75,000........... 63,750 ...........50,000...................13,750

To maximise the return on the voucher, need to consider short sectors. That's a tough one from BNE on SQ when factoring in the existing 15% redemption for online booking.

Thoughts on maximising this appreciated.

OK, so got my letter in the mail yesterday but noticed it says 10K points rather than 20K. Not too worried as I have a hard copy brochure of the offer plus have just saved the web page but wondering if anyone else had this.

Have also got my wife to apply so guess I'll see with her letter.

I signed up a couple of weeks ago and took screen shots of the 20,000 miles after 1st purchase. Today I received my letter and it says 10,000 miles.

I'm going to ring Westpac for sure.

That's strange. I didn't get a letter but on my statement and in my KF membership I got the 20k. It was my first statement.

I got the letter last week, and it said 10,000 miles. Got the card early last week.

Even in the Westpac bank website, it stated 10,000 miles.

I have screenshots of various sections of their web site that says 20,000 miles. I rang Westpac and she (customer service) says the letter is automatically generated and I should receive the 20,000 miles in July.

I got her to put a little note in my account to credit my account 20,000 miles and not 10,000 miles.

Just wondering do you need your new card to be approved by a certain date in order to get the 20,000 miles?

I remember when I applied online, I saw the 20,000 miles in the Westpac website, but didn't take any screen shots for it.

Cheers

I thiink it may have been early JUne as I was just in the SQ Business Lounge in Melbournea few days back and there were some brochures advertising 20K bonus to get the card. A quick glance showed it was analready expired offer for early June...so I did not keep.

Ok thanks, my card was approved on June 15, so I think I might not get the 20,000 miles.

Well last year to 30th June2010 was my first year with the platinum card version.
Have just renewed it for $250 and with some J and F redemptions I still have 2 commas in my KF account.
I have been really happy with the ease of use and the no limits on point earning.
Because of the 3 year validity of the points I am booking further J and F flights for the gang of five.
Very happy for a first year user of this great product.

Arrrghh!!! I arrived home yesterday to find a new Krisfyler card in the mail :(

When I signed up I gave Westpac my existing Krisflyer details.

So annoying.

aah, two commas...millones! Well done.

My Qantas and most OW flights earn QF ff points. With Westpac krisflyer and Amex platinum cards, I have both *A and OW covered. Krisflyer accrues points to SQ only but Amex points can be transferred to around 7 airlines, mostly asia-pacific ones. Reading thru the forums, SPG account would be handy for transfer of points to other airlines though. It would have been handy to have SPG and Amex co-branded card for Australian residents. That would be icing on the cake.

Looked at my Krisflyer account, and noticed the option for "Westpac Platinum" for booking the "50% off" redemptions. I tried to book 2 pax 1 way trip and it would not allow me to do so. It only allows booking for 1 pax. Also it is not available for use for J redemptions which is annoying, especially their high level of taxes.

So I tried to book SYD-SIN-HKG return Y ticket (without actually ticketing it), which normally for internet booking would be 46750 points, it calculates to be 30000 points after Westpac Platinum discount, a saving of 16750 points. The taxes/surcharges though is like $121.26 (taxes) + $229.80 (carrier surcharges) = $351.06!!!!!

So annoying.

I received a new Krisflyer card too, but the points posted to the correct account, the member number I gave when I applied for the card on the Westpac website.

Unfortunately only 10K points posted. What annoys me is when I put in my application I phoned Westpac to make sure I would get the 20K points. They looked up my name and said they had a record of the mail-out invitation so I would get the 20K. It was already noted on my account!

So not a good start, a Krisflyer card I don't need and only half the points promised. Hopefully it won't take a lot of effort to get it sorted and earned points will post correctly.
