I'm courious, has anyone ever used the ability to take Altitude Points and convert them to an international travel ticket (and I don't mean the xfer to a FF program)?
When I look at Westpac's site it's showing a Virgin Atlantic Upper Class return ticket to HK advertised at 61,600 points + a payment of $A4,552. On Qantas you can use 60,000 pts for a one-way business and pay $A4,013 for a one-ticket. Does Westpac let you use double the points for a return ticket and just pay the taxes?
Doesn't seem to be any sense of real value there does it.
