3 months? What a joke. The ANZ offering seems to be a lot more streamlined IMO.

Hmm, just applied for this, never banked with Westpac before, and managed to get approved and some limit around about the $4,500 mark instead of the $9,000 or so i asked for for a balance transfer... But sweet, another 16,000 QFF poitns coming my way...

Hullo Frequent Flyers,

I applied for the current offer about 10 days ago. I am yet to receive any confirmation from Westpac so I phoned their 1300 number that was supplied to me by the CSO when I applied (applied through QFF when they phoned me). Today I spent a fair amount of time on hold, being transferred to and fro through various Westpac customer service departments, being disconnected and having to phone back and start the whole process again only to find that Westpac has not received any application in my name.

If anyone out there applied over the phone, how long did it take to hear back from Westpac?

Other than phoning QFF (using the phone number on the back of FF card) does anyone know who to phone to find out what happened to my personal details if they haven't been handed to Westpac what happened to my application?

Thank you for any suggestions in getting to the bottom of this.

I called up not intending to apply for it then and there but just as to whether the offer would be extended beyond the end of November as i wanted to wait a bit longer between applying for an ANZ cards in September and putting this application in but the lady didn't know and sort of talked me into applying then and there... Went through the whole process dunno, maybe 10-15 mins, and she was able to tell me at the end of it after sending it off to whichever section approves these things (only took a few seconds) that i had been approved and what my limit was...

Received paper statement today & un-happy to confirm there is no Qantas Partner points on this card, since only points for the Qantas spend was passed on.... not the 2:1 as promised on the website for Qantas Purchases...

Got the scissors ready to cut this sucker up....just waiting for the sign on bonus to post then adios amigos...

So buying Qantas flights on the Amex Earth is only 1:1? Someone should notify the ACCC about Westpac's misleading conduct!

This is a known issue with the Earth card at the moment. See this thread: http://www.australianfrequentflyer..../westpac-not-awarding-earth-qantas-33969.html

Actually, the first port of call would be to take the issue up with Westpac to try to get a resolution there.

I agree 100% oz_mark, however it is disappointing to say the least, even more disappointing is that based on the first thread of that post this has been a problem with this card since around August....

Just a heads up to any other Westpac Earth customers that for at least two months, Westpac has not been awarding the promised bonus point per dollar spent on Qantas charges, even though bonus points have previously been awarded for other Qantas transactions this time last year.

Is it fair to say that this is too longer time to resolve such an issue, which it would seem has been reported to them on numerous times...?

Sceptical it may be, but why really would they want to solve this "issue" in a hurry...? Perhaps as a sceptic I could say it was "planned" After all it is in their interest not to pass on more points than they are required / forced to...?

Poor form Westpac....

I have just phoned Qantas FF to figure out what is going on with this promotion. QFF did organise a third party company to phone around and try to sign up people for the Earth credit card deal. QFF believe that it can take around two weeks (I was told one week by the third party company when I completed the application) for the application to be processed.

So if you signed up through QFF phoning you and haven't heard from them yet, give it about two weeks as applications are sent off in batches.

Hope this helps anyone else who might be waiting and wondering what is going on.

After the failure of this card posting Qantas bonus points, I'm back to putting all my Q flights on my ANZ cards. Put nearly $8k worth of bookings on them last week and already showing up as follows online on my ANZ account as follows...

Summary Since **/11/2011VISAAmerican Express
Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned this period***.*8,966.9
Bonus & Promotional Qantas Frequent Flyer points earned this period***.*7,429.9

Other than sign on bonus points, what's the point having this card...?

does this expire ON or BEFORE 30 November? because the website says BEFORE, but the promotion was still listed on their website. i applied and was approved ON the 30th November. Guess I'll have to call and find out and see what I get in the mail, otherwise I might cancel before activation! Surely they can't charge the annual fee in that case?

You should be fine. Promotion has been extended until the 16/12/11

Agreed, no point at all. I was also surprised to find out that there were no bonus points for Qantas bookings - fortunately I double-checked before making booking on Sunday. I used my Amex Qantas card instead. I will get the sign on bonus and cancel it.

After complaining to Westpac about this, I eventually heard from them who tried to tell me the "bonus" deal was only for Qantas flights and that I did not receive the bonus points because I must have booked on another carrier such as jetstar... Total BS...! if they had a look at my account they would clearly see where it says "Qantas Airways Pty Ltd Purchase"

This is ending up to be a really poor offering from Westpac

Hopefully the sign up points post without delay...

one question, i have received my approval letter and notice to collect my cards in the mail, but it doesnt have any mention of the 16k bonus points. can anyone please check their letters if they still have them and see if there is mention of the 16k points in the letter? i ask this, because i WAS an earth customer, but cancelled and signed up again (not via product switch, but as a 'new' customer).

if i activate the card, and dont get the points it would be a waste of $75

How much is the eligible spend? For the bonus points

Didn't see anything about minimum spend. I bought a DVD box last month and the card hasn't seen sunlight since. Paid the balance and now waiting for the bonus points...

I am a new customer to Westpac and I just received my letter the other day and there is no mention of the 16,000 bonus points. Also, IIRC there is a three month wait on the bonus points.

hths,

Ok, card picked up and box of chockies bought... So lets see some points in 3 months...

The other ok part about this card is the 0.99% on balance transfers for 9 months which i am also taking advantage of....
