Webjet refusing refund on cancelled flight

I have a ticket booked from Abu Dhabi to Melbourne scheduled for 5 July 2023. On 14 June, Webjet emailed me saying my ticket has been cancelled and my monies are forfeited. They took my money, cancelled my ticket and refuse to give me the money of the ticket. If you book you risk losing your money and now I am stuck in Abu Dhabi without a ticket.

Obviously, there's more to the story.

As a business, webjet aren't just going to randomly cancel tickets and not return money. So what was the reason given, and what else did they say?

The fact the OP didn't include this necessary information, but makes extreme accusations, just makes one skeptical.

Hi and welcome to AFF!

can you give us some more details? How did you get to abu dhabi? was this the return leg of a ticket out of australia? did you miss any connecting flights?

Joined yesterday. Only 1 flame post. I’m sceptical of the whole thing unless more details are provided by the OP. @MHUSSAIN
I don't think that joining up then posting necessarily means anything. Sometimes people just google if they are angry at something flight related so of course AFF pops up so they join and post about their issue. But agree not coming back to clarify does suggest something. However last we heard they were stuck in the ME so maybe they are now flying for a few hours. Or without internet.

Going to all the effort to join for a spam post? Possibly, but there’s not much benefit to the OP.

There could be many reasons why this has happened… a no show, no visa etc.
