Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know about our experience getting tested this morning at Melbourne Airport.
We are flying to the US tomorrow morning, so thought we would go today to get our PCR tests at Histopath. We pre-booked online, and arrived around 10am this morning. There was no line at all and we walked straight in. The security guy asked us when we were flying, but didn't ask to see any proof at all. When you book, they say to bring a passport or drivers licence, but they really prefer passports as they can scan them and all the information gets entered automatically. We had once of each, so it took an extra minute while the nurse manually entered my information from my license.
Once our info was entered in, they quickly did our tests. As our flights aren't until tomorrow, we were free to leave the airport straight away, and received our negative results by both SMS and email about an hour later. When we are back at the airport tomorrow for our flights, we can just go past Histopath again to pick up our official print outs.
I had been quite anxious about this part of the process, largely because the Histopath website says they are only doing tests on the day of your flight. In reality, the day before was fine for us, and we got the results quickly and stress free.
Happy travelling everyone!
