10.44am: The Queensland Premier is giving her latest  briefing and is urging residents in the state not to travel unless it  is absolutely necessary. Other traffic on the roads may hamper emergency  services trying to help people in trouble.
Anna Bligh says just  because there's blue skies in Brisbane - a "surreal experience", as she  described them - does not mean people . "The water is in the catchment  and on [its] way," she says.
The latest forecast is that the  Brisbane River will peak tomorrow at 5.5m. The expected peak in Ipswich  has been revised down to 20.5m.
