Just curious about those who book through an agent and the flight goes around the world , figuratively speaking lol, for Sydney to LHR
Looking at Google flights a suggestion is Lufthansa flying United via SFO and return is Austrian and Thai home as a 39 hour flight
How reliable are those tickets and how are they booked ?
On the second flight which is quite lengthy are the bags checked through to Sydney?
Just curious as it would be fun to see new airlines, planes and airports

They are often separate tickets on those cheap Google flight deals.

You are far better off going with a real TA and booking a LH or AY ticket or similar.

I think the bags would be checked through with TG and OS if on same PNR.

Wondering? :)

Google Flights would not be a good indicator of RTW ticketing. And there are many species of 'RTW' - LH and AY, which actually need not be RTW (need not be round the globe) also Qantas RTW, DONEX, Star Alliance RTW .... types

Reliability of the tickets? As reliable as any other ticket.

Book though a good travel agent. There are many ways to reduce costs (eg carrier charges, taxes etc).

Bag checking-through - can't say.

Yes, you can have a lot of fun and new experiences with RTW.

Getting a decent TA is the problem :)

I was just having a look as I was having a sticky beak at Vietnam airlines for Sydney to LAX next year. Looked like it would be interesting, or maybe FIJi airlines lol
So Mr Terry decided he wanted a new airline for his UK next year

Not sure about AFF but there are a few TAs on FlyerTalk (nufnuf77 is one) who are seemingly quite good at booking complex RTW itineraries. (I have never used them)
