Waitlist for Upgrade. Lose Selected Seats?

Not sure if this is the right spot to ask this question....

We have a PE flight booked with QAN for September, are both Silver, but the site is saying "seat selection unavailable". When I first booked it (Nov 21) I chose seats and just wanted to check they were the same. I have applied for an upgrade, would that cancel our seat selection or is it just a glitch? Don't like flying in the middle of the plane. Any thoughts??

Previously selected seats should still show in the Qantas app even if the seat map no longer loads.

The seat map no longer loading could mean the portion of the PE cabin available to your status is completely full. You can verify this using an EF seat alert (free) to view occupied v blocked seats.

If EF can't see the seat map it's possible the aircraft was swapped to a type without a PE cabin (e.g. 787 replaced with A330)

It would help others comment further if you are able to share the date/route/flight number.

We're on QF 9 5th September PER-LHR

Relatively full in rows 22 and 23, which I would guess to be the only rows a Silver can select in PE.

How many pax are on the booking? If it's 2 or more I would expect the seat map to not load on the Qantas site.

But the seats assigned to each passenger should still show up in the Qantas app or in Manage My Booking under "Seats" - but clicking "Change Seats" won't work.

There's 2 of us. I had chosen 21K&J but 22 K&J would be absolutely great. Nothing shows up in Manage my Booking and still get the "seat selection unavailable" if I go to 'Seats'. Maybe we'll have to wait til the 80 hours before the flight. Any point ringing Qantas?
