VS SYD through check for BA LHR-MAN flight?

Unsure as to whether this is the right forum section for this question - if I've got it wrong, please accept my apologies.

I am flying VS from SYD to LHR in December, arriving circa 5am. I then have a BA flight booked from LHR to MAN at 6:30am. Given the short amount of time on the ground, was wondering if it is possible for VS to through check my luggage to MAN?

Has anyone else been in a similar situation and had success with this?

Any thoughts very much appreciated.

It is my understanding that you will need to clear UK Custom's in Terminal 3 (I think VS lands at T3) and get your bags, then transfer to Terminal 1 for check-in (with bags) which is the UK domestic Terminal and your LHR-MAN flight is a domestic one.

Even if you bags could be transferred (which I do not believe is the case), then you aren't leaving yourself much time to go through customs and then check-in with BA especially if the flight from SYD has any delays.

If you take flying into Syd on an international flight then say you need to transfer to Melb on domestic flight, then you have to clear customs and re-check you bags (in this case it is in the Int Terminal) and then take the transfer bus to the domestic terminal. This is the case even for QF for all the way.

Good luck.

If the 2 flights are on the same ticket, then VS should check the luggage through; if they are on separate tickets they are not obliged to and I would phone VS and find out what their policy is

As far as Customs/Immigration, assuming you can get bags checked through, this will be performed in MAnchester when you arrive

90 minutes is, I believe, a legal connection at LHR for T3-T1 so you should be ok
