Vote of no confidence against Qantas?

This will potentially mean most likely nothing...

Mr Purvinas said the union had successfully campaigned to raise a vote of no confidence in the Qantas board at the next board meeting on October 28.
He said enough shareholders had officially declared their support for the vote of no confidence for it to be approved.
But he believed the motion would be ignored by the board.

Some interesting comments in the article.

News said:
"The Australian public are not going to wear that while they're trying to
offshore the airline.

"I don't need to state the obvious but it's as if these people live in a
bubble and they don't understand the perception of what they're doing and they
feel like they're justified within themselves for something that is so morally
taut."

I don't believe he is too far from the mark with those comments.

Yep unlikely to mean anything. Interesting Steve thinks he has the numbers... very surprising.

I believe they needed 100 votes to have the issue bought up with the board. Most Qantas employees are shareholders as previous bonuses used to include shares, so it's not hard to get the pilots to register their support for it.

The board should take notice of it in order to be doing their job properly.
