Another London bound flight QF9 was diverted to Dubai because of a medical emergency.

My dad was (is?) in LHR T3 about to catch a flight back to HKG with CX. Seems all is OK, now, just hoping it’s OK when I go there and come back.

Landed in LHR with no problems. They are talking now of limited travel through less dense ash if it happens again.

I’ve gotta say I’m surprised ash cameras are new, as we know the dangers of flying through ash clouds unknowingly, so why isn’t their more technology on a/c already to help stop disasters?
