They certainly have not for all CLs, I am related to CLs that got matched to platinum and offered another year of platinum despite no flying but not offered any new level of status based on the new lounge. Also I love the mock up CL for the photo in the article!

Quite true in the case of a certain head of a football code, of course less publicised changes go under the radar, as do politicians .

Not necessarily, if you have someone who is booking millions of dollars worth of travel, despite now booking both QF and VA tickets, that person is still pretty important to QF. Withdraw CL and that person could start doing 100% of their bookings via VA.

What's the food offering like in the Club?

The only reference I've seen to The Club's offerings was in this post:

The Club members do indeed have VIP on their boarding pass. My boss is a member and takes great delight in showing me his boarding pass every time to remind me how special he is

He took me for lunch in the Brisbane lounge a few weeks back.... AMAZING!!!! A table was set for us, and a three course meal selected from the menu. A fantastic wine list available and every manner of spirits on hand.

We were alone in there from about 3:30pm until 4:30pm, then two other passengers came through. Nowhere near as busy as the Chairmanship Lounge seems to get.

He also gets automatic upgrade to business class 1A on every ticket, and a concierge meets him at the plane at the end of every trip. I've even seen flight crew move people out of 1A to accommodate.

Certainly has its perks... If you can get in

Some pics of the new kit.

The box is not as substantial Danger's
A little underwhelming really.


It contains a nice soft leather wallet.
Would've been nice if it had been monogrammed, like QF does with P1 gift.



Inside the wallet contains the welcome letter, brochure, cards and luggage tag.


The luggage tag is made of the same leather as the wallet. same on both sides.
It contains a copy of the membership card. Which you need to undo the strap to get access to.
Not the greatest design. Think i'll just keep using the platinum tags.

And the card hasn't changed. Still plastic.
Would've been nice if it was made of metal, like the platinum luggage tags.
