Had two G&Ts tonight. When I asked for the second the CS said, not sure if we have any left. But she found one for me somewhere. Which tells me some folks will be well and truly left out.

Here is a short and sharp, late night post to put a smile on your faces.

You will be happy to hear, that we have heard you.

Due to the valuable feedback we have received from our Guests (and yes that means the AFF collective too), Spirits and mixers will be back on the menu by Friday next week (26th Aug).

More next week.

Enjoy your weekends everyone!

Thank you ... I'm certainly enjoying my weekend more having started it with a G&T on DJ846 this afternoon!

Another example of DJ listening to our gripes???

That menu is better and it seems to be rotating (no panini sandwiches)? If so, that's another listening example.....and the New Yorker sounds good too!

Hi swanning,

The flight I was on tonight, the CS and FA both said that they heard 4-5 complaints a day about the change in menu. They in turn filed complaints to the company. So they are definitely listening!

And the New Yorker was quite good - a bit too much bread, but overall much better than the panini. With a G&T and a some chips it makes for a decent meal.

The New Yorker is very good, I have had 6 in the last week! Still needs better breakfast options though.

You weren't sitting in 1D on DJ846 SYD-MEL this afternoon were you???

When disembarking I noticed the guy next to me had a Velocity Platinum tag on his cabin bag already, so thought he might have been an AFFer maximising the status match!

Oh, thanks for letting me know, must of missed it! (I am not a fan of going through pages and pages of stuff to do with pies :D)

You should be. Pies are the greatest culinary invention ever.;)

And you call yourself a Frequent Flyer...

*dishes out some NPPP's*

That might anger the VArrati. Better dish out some LMPPs to keep them happy;)

Just saw this thread and I cannot believe what VA were thinking getting rid of spirits! They surely didn't do any market research on this one, of, if they did they must have picked a very different bunch of people to whom post on this board :D

Now two other things that need to come back

Hot chocolate - Make it an extra $1/$2 if you want to make up for that extra 10 seconds it takes for a flight attendant to open the pack, stir it and hand it out.
Proper orange juice

Got to say the Juice is pretty awesome! And I added another New Yorkers to my list last night, with a scotch!

I tried the beef and mushroom pie on Thursday night. I would normally avoid anything with mushrooms, but thought I would give it a try. It was pretty much as I remembered the previous beef (no mushrooms) pie - very tasty but a little challenging to eat with limited elbow room.

Luckily I have only had the pies on A330 or PE flights, so didnt have that problem :mrgreen:
That was before I became a lowly Gold :( :D:D

Any chance of party pies making an appearance?

You mean the Luke Mangan Partie Pies? They were served up to us in the Lounge on wednesday night. So yes, they are around.

I live overseas, so haven't tried the Luke Mangan menu. Having studied it online though, my concern is that it's carb loaded with few healthy low-carb, or at least carb/protein balanced options.

The gourmet sandwich sounds quite tasty, but can't imagine there's much meat in it (happy to be proved wrong though!)

The noodle salad doesn't have any meat in it. (Meat fan here)

Beef pie sounds very tasty and would have it as a treat, but wouldn't want it too regularly -imagine the pastry is quite fatty.

I dislike wraps, I usually find them doughy and it gets stuck in your teeth.

The drink options look good.

I'll miss the Brooksfarm gluten free options; used to love the macadamia muesli.

I love Brooksfarm, I buy it in bulk for home hehehe

They should get it back on the menu for breakfast! Did they use to have it in little bowls like keloggs do?

Since when is low carb healthy? It is a nice marketing fad!

If you do not eat enough carbs, and high amounts of proteins, you will end up with what may potentially be dangerous to your health with elevated ketone levels in your systems.
