I am flying from Perth to Heathrow later in the year I am a virgin platinum member,
so I have to fly with Singapore my question is should I book direct with Virgin or Singapore I am going to book premium economy how do I go about points sc seat selection etc etc

Perth to Singapore has no PE. Singapore to LHR does. Fares take that into account.

Get the booking reference from Virgin and then select seats on the SQ website.

Depends on price. If you put your Velocity number into the booking, both will get you status credits, but booking VA will get you status bonus points as well , so take that into account when comparing price. But general rule of thumb is that, all else being equal booking with the operating carrier is better in case of delays etc.

Agreed, often the VA codeshares are significantly more expensive than booking with SQ direct.

Why not EY? Far superior lounge in AUH from what I understand and likely a short overall travel journey. I'm not familiar with west coast departures but does look like there is an EY PER-AUH
