Hi guys

Just been speaking to Flight Centre about an upcoming trip to Chicago.

Just me flying and I'm Velocity Gold.

The VA - Virgin America Option is nearly $500 more expensive than the Delta option. They are both on a single ticket etc.

My question is about Lounge Access, SCs and Points - will I get Lounge access with Delta locally and is the difference in SCs that significant?

I'm balancing cost vs benefits, any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

I would pay the extra to go VA-VX. VX is a terrific little airline - very innovative. DL is like every US legacy carrier - stuck in the past.

I believe you get lounge access and SCs with either option.

Can you do VA to LAX and then DL to ORD? That would be my preferred option (DL is much, much better with providing benefits than VX are)

You'll get more lounge access on DL. VX doesn't really 'do' lounges, and has nada at ORD. The VX experience is better than DL, but I've always found DL to be the better of all the 'legacy' US airlines.
